DUBLIN (AP) — It's no secret that President Donald Trump loves the game of golf. He likes to watch, play, include pros in his foursomes and even design courses. He also isn't shy about his friendships with the pros.

The United States is officially neutral on an issue that had been a source of decades of violence in Northern Ireland until a 1998 peace deal.

Donald Trump used his visit to Ireland to fan the flames of a decades-long conflict that found an uneasy truce in a 1998 peace deal. Speaking at a press conference in Dublin, Ireland, the 80-year-old president on Saturday said the Republic of Ireland should be reunified with the United Kingdom’s Northern Ireland.

The visit mixes official talks with Irish leaders and an attendance of the Irish Open at a golf course which the president owns.
